Andrew Turner Chief Technology Officer, Esri R&D Center @ajturner Andrew Turner is the Chief Technology Officer of the Esri R&D Center in Washington, DC developing new technology for open data sharing and geospatial web collaboration. Originally an aerospace engineer designing autonomous learning spacecraft control algorithms, Andrew became passionate about utilizing making advanced geospatial technology available to everyone for personal analysis and storytelling. He is a member the Open-Source Geospatial Foundation, the OpenStreetMap foundation, and is also the co-founder of Crisiscommons, a global community of technology volunteers that support humanitarian assistant in disasters. Andrew is the author of "Introduction to Neogeography" and "Trends in Where2.0". Andrew received his B.S in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Virginia and his Masters from Virginia Tech. Andrew blogs at highearthorbit.com.
